Note that some of the Desktop icons will view (when clicked on) as solid black, or looking a little incomplete. This is a malfunction of your browser, and does not show how they will appear on your Windows screen. Grey backgrounded icons have a transparent background.

You should download the entire batch (all eight pages of icons) as a .ZIP file here (259, 925 K).

I might remark that the ZIP file will include icons that are not pictured, if I am working on a new page, as I will add them to the ZIP file as I make them and only show them on a new page when I have about 40 or so ready to go. If the ZIP file shows a number higher than 259, 925 then I have added more that are not pictured yet.

Changing your Desktop icon is quite easy. First of all, download the ZIP file above to a suitable directory on one of your hard drives. I usually keep the Old West icons in their own directory.

Then, follow these simple steps, in Windows 98:

• Go to your Desktop
• Right click on the Desktop icon you want to change
• Left click on "Properties"
• Left click on "Change Icon"
• Left click on "Browse," and to to the file folder where you have the Old West icons saved
• Left click on the icon name in the directory
• Left click on "Open"
• Left click on "OK"
• Left click on "OK"

And you're done! Other varieties of Windows will follow similar protocols.
