The Apparatus of Dr. Mabuse

Sam Hane participated in the tracking down and subsequent halting of the operations of the notorious Dr. Mabuse in the early 1990's.

Unfortunately, a strange "implosion" destroyed most of the laboratory, and Dr. Mabuse, just before Sam and the Federal agents arrived. All that was recovered was this photograph, which Sam believes was taken early in the century in France. It is now on file at the Library of Miskatonic University.

The apparent distortions of space-time above the machine show that Dr. Mabuse's theories, while they had been laughed at by the established scientific community, held a grain of truth in them.

None of Dr. Mabuse's notes survived, and the ultimate purpose of this machine, and what the twisted remains that seemed to be composed of a strange combination of metal and stone were for, remain unknown.
